Reasons for choosing this treatment

Sweating can be a big hindrance in our professional and social lives.

A botox injection is a quick, painless procedure – there is no downtime or recovery period and professional and sporting activities can be resumed immediately.

While expensive, it is the only simple method consisting in a single session that is permitted in France. Aluminum chloride is banned in France because of the risk associated with breast cancer.

Indications

  • Armpits
  • Forehead
  • Feet
  • Hands

What happens at a session

Botox injections are very useful to treat excessive underarm sweating. First of all, the doctor identifies the specific underarm areas concerned with a test, then about ten doses of Botox are injected into each armpit.

These injections are not painful, and for more sensitive patients, an anesthetic cream such as EMLA can be used.

Results and treatment follow-up

Sweating will decrease two days after the injection, and the effect will be complete in the month following the injection. However, this treatment is not permanent, and new injections should be given approximately every seven months.

Contraindication

This product is contraindicated for patients with myastenia gravis, associated with certain antibiotics, and for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
